Who we are
Biashara is run by Biashara (Tanzania). For any question about your personal information, write to support@biasharahq.com.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, phone number, email address (if you give one), your password (stored scrambled, never readable), your language and your sign-in history (time, device and network address) to keep your account safe.
- Your business's records: what you and your team enter: products, sales, customers and suppliers (names, phone numbers, what they owe), expenses and files such as photos and receipts.
- Messages: the receipts, reminders and other messages you send from Biashara, and whether they were delivered.
- Payments: for plans and online payments, the amount, the reference and the phone number used, as the payment gateway reports them. We never see or keep card or mobile money PINs.
Your customers' information
The details your business records about its own customers and suppliers are controlled by your business. We keep and process them on your business's behalf, only to provide Biashara to you, and we do not contact your customers for our own purposes.
Why we use it
- To run your account and your business's records, and to show each person only what their role allows.
- To send what you ask us to send (receipts, reminders, reports) and the messages about your account and plan.
- To keep the service safe: detecting misuse, preventing other people from signing in as you, and fixing errors.
- To meet legal obligations, such as tax records for our invoices.
Who we share it with
Only with the services needed to run Biashara, and only what each needs: our hosting provider, the SMS, WhatsApp and email services that deliver your messages, the payment gateways that take payments, and Google or Apple if you choose to sign in with them or back up to Google Drive. We share information with authorities only when the law requires it. We do not sell personal information.
How long we keep it
As long as your account is open. When an account closes we keep the information for a limited time so it can be downloaded, then delete it, except what the law requires us to keep (for example invoices). Backups are replaced within weeks.
How we protect it
Connections are encrypted (https), passwords are scrambled, keys for connected services are encrypted, each business's information is kept apart from every other business's, and every important change is recorded.
Your rights
Under the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how it is used. Write to support@biasharahq.com; we answer within 30 days. You may also complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission.
Cookies
Biashara uses only the cookies it needs: one to keep you signed in and remember your language. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Children
Biashara is for businesses and is not meant for children under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we tell you in the app or by email. The date at the top shows the latest version.
